Hmmmm, quite interesting although ill founded. I was neither. But if I were neglectful or irresponsible and beleived in Karma, I just might of concurred with your comment. Interesting view point though. Simply because I stated I was relaxing does not imply I was tossing caution to the wind. It was meant as a feel good drive. Thanks .

Man.. you guys are harsh. Where I live we deal with snow and ice for a good chunk of the year so you get pretty comfortable with it and learn quick what speed is appropriate. Even being used to it, sometimes ice can catch you unaware.
That said, the pics look like the rear tires were getting down there in tread and not running sandbags in the bed during winter it's almost guaranteed you'll kick out the rear end occasionally.
Either way, I'd say his karma must be pretty good for them both to walk away from a semi collision unharmed. Sorry for your loss joksamno, but I'd say it's the best ending you could ask for.

Your going to wanna have that baby put down I know it sucks but that's some major frame bendage... But hey my friends' lil brother crashed his 05 F150 and the insurence put another frame in it out of an 07 so who knows it's all down to value of the truck and damage costs and I think if it reaches 85% of total value they total the truck. That's how I lost my Ranger =(

it all comes down to book value and the cost of the repair.
A GOOD frame tech could remove the sway and level the rails in about 6 hours.
You need a complete used bed and a rear bumper, that shouldn't be too hard to find.
If you were in my area ( Boston) I could fix the frame for you for short money.

btw, 49 states had snow, except hawaii of course. Which one of the 49 states did this accident happen in?
Also, its a good thing they could fix it, looked as if there was way to much damage to fix it. And Im Glad you were able to walk away from an accident like this
