Default What are these?

I just picked up my 04 fx4 and I found these under the air intake while I was snooping around. I am thinking they are for a CAI the previous owner had? They just sit in the holes in that plate and are aluminum. Sort of odd, just wanted to see what you all thought.

Is this a used truck? If so that is the old intake mount from the last owners intake system.

Yup, I got it used from a ford dealer. Thats what I thought I was just making sure I wasn't missing a bracket or something.

Yep,the last owner had a aftermarket cai installed.Should make you wonder what else he had on the truck! Like a Programmer, exhaust, sound system?

Its got a dual exhaust, and what looks to be a stock sound upgrade under the back seat. It is by far the cleanest 04 I have ever seen, so I'm not too worried about what he did to it. It looks like he took great care of it, and hey who doesn't get on the skinny pedal a little bit.

Since you have the dual exhaust already, I'd go for a CAI, then a tuner. You are fortunate to have 1/3 already done.

And from the little we can see from the picture, it does indeed look clean. Most dealers will detail a vehicle for this very reason; it motivates potential buyers to purchase.

Show us the rest. Yellow trucks are uncommon on this forum. You have a keeper!

Yeah I know they detail them within an inch of their life and put a think coat of oil over everything to make it look nice. when I said clean I meant no scratches/body damage/rust. I looked at a couple 04 and 05's with a decent number of scratches and even some bubbleing paint on the bed, but this one didn't even have the typical scratches in the front clip.

I haven't seen a ton of yellow trucks period, and I wasn't sold on it at first to be honest, but the more I looked at everything it had, it grew on me. I come from driving a lifted jeep wrangler so I'm used to having vehicles that "don't blend in" with others. I guess I didn't realize they we that uncommon

Alright here are some more pictures.
