2008 f150 5.4. Putting in new long lock and can only find one of these. It bolts to the upper timing cover bolt on each side. I suspect the dog
😊 Anyway, what is it and what is its purpose?
And yes, I need to put the bolt from by old block on there
I see them broken and missing sometimes
The suppressors are for 2 way radio like the police use
I used to purposely run solid core Moroso blue max plug wires on my old 69 Z-28 just to fowl up the 2 way police radios
Got pulled over just about every Friday night on the Blvd. asking what year my car was
Finally complained to the county prosecutor, and started running those solid core plug wires to spite them
That was 40+ years ago
Basically, when I quit driving like a dink, they quit hassling me

They're for more than actual "radio" interference. The interference they're talking about is all the other electronic components in the vehicles. The most dramatic effect I've ever seen personally goes back a ways but it was a Lincoln MkVII in our service drive with a digital dash that was reading 100mph while it was idling in park. It was caused by radio interference caused by the alternator.
