Python
$190 + plus bypass module, some wiring accessories = $250

Pretty easy install, just takes time and patience

No cons really. Love everything about it!

I have the Viper 5901. Price was sort of up there because I also have the SmartStart system so I can use my phone. I didn't install mine but have installed it for others. Takes time and patience but not real difficult.

Can you still use the key code on the door with the alarms?

I have an avital.
Gf surprised me with it as a Christmas gift 2 years ago so no clue on price.
Factory fob, alarm, and door keys all still work.
No complaints works as it should!

I have an Avital, cheapest one at best buy, it was $330 installed, the f-150 required a $100 bypass module, so that jacked up the price a bit. It works to start the truck, but the feature that let's you press it to take the keys out but leave the truck running only works about half the time, the rest of the time the truck shuts off and throws a check engine light. Debating on taking it back up there

Viper 5704

$185 factory Reman on Ebay for the main unit. $8 for the 556u bypass on
Ebay. I also added two window modules and glass break sensor for an extra 120.

The install was fairly easy once I did my research and figured out exactly what needed to be hooked up... Viper doesn't give you a hole lot of help.
Here is my install https://www.f150forum.com/f4/viper-5...l-pics-190454/

I don't really have a lot of cons, I like this system it has a long range 2 way remote and can support alot of accessories. Cons would be the lack of DIY support from viper and that I still have not figured out how to use the fob to lock the doors without arming the alarm.

The system does not disable the keypad it still will work to lock/unlock the truck.. Only issue is if you say went to the beach and wanted to lock the keys in the car, you would still be able to arm the alarm but the door sensor will sound the alarm when you use the keypad to reenter. I am not if there is an alarm system out there that will not have this problem but it doesn't bother me as this is a rare situation to be in for me.

Here's a picture of it. Came with 2 of them plus I still have the 2 ford lock/unlock/panic button key fob.

Pros: I noticed when I lock my truck with the starter key fobs it arms it. If you jump in the box, nudge the tire/running board, any slightest nudge will make the truck honk. Starter, as well as being able to take the key back out when running inside. Valet mode as well which I learned about this winter when I accidentally activated it & couldn't figure out why my truck wouldn't start from the key fob for a week lol

Cons:

1. for some reason it only honks each time u touch it not continuously after the first touch when armed.

2. the horn is a lot quieter when I use the starter key fob (like half the sound of regular key fob) when locking doors or using panic button.

3. When I go back to my standard factory ford key fobs in the summer the alarm feature doesn't work anymore.

Might just use the starter fob shown in the picture through the summer this year
