Credit cards are great for building credit.

The magic formula in my experience is:
  1. Get credit card of any interest rate and credit line amount
  2. Spend at least 1/3rd of its limit but no more than 1/2 its limit every month.
  3. Pay off to 0 balance every month
  4. Watch credit score go up.

The higher the credit line you can do the 1/3-1/2 method on the faster your credit score will go up. It's all about available vs used credit and monthly payment amounts.

Sounds like ^^^ has had some bad luck.

Credit Unions have great interest rates on vehicles. Mine will finance back to 05 I believe now with 2.25%. Credit cards are great as long as you pay them off. You will likely need a cosigner for any loan or credit card you get if you have no credit right now.

This has nothing to do with the topic however most banks will cover your stolen purchases on a debit card, if they don't I would suggest looking for a different bank.

Bad luck along with experience maybe. The vast majority of people don't have what you describe happen to them the amount of times yourself has... Back to the topic. Good luck with finding your truck.

Your CC # being stolen.
I never give out my personal banking info and it has saved my rear several times when my info got stolen.
and both those were from your last paragraph.

You are correct, its not completely off topic but you are attempting to start a pissing match.

Hey thanks for that advice. It'll really help! I'm going to 2 credit unions tomorrow to see who gives me a better opportunity; if they even give me one. I'm praying for it. It sucks how much I want that truck
