I normally use the Jetta for these commutes, so when I take the truck, I don't like either trip to be wasted. Previous owners of my house flowered a tire around a rim, planted a tree in it, and plopped it next to the barn; I cut the tree down but the wheel flower has been out back for nearly 3 years giving me agita.
lol.... that's unfortunately a sometimes familiar look of my truck bed! Gotta pay for them MODS somehow !

As part of that voyage today, truck died a half mile from the scrap yard. Coasted to the side, put in park, and restarted after some cranking. It didn’t do it again, so I took that as a sign. The scrap load was worth $125 so I stopped at advance (ordered on my phone from the parking lot for 25% discount) for a FPDM. Replaced it as soon as I got home. At 152k miles, my truck is on at least it’s third. The one I took out was done in 2013. Even with the rubber stand-offs on the updated ones, the electrolysis circuit is still connected by the steel bolts holding it to the frame, so corrosion is inevitable.

Since the hub bearings were humming pretty good. I started the install of PowerStop rotors and Calipers. I went with a different possibly better pad. I got the front done, and started the rear. I found a rear axle seal leaking, so I'll finish the rear tomorrow morning after pulling the axles. And what a P.I.T.A. the front hub nut is. Props to my 1/2 inch Snap On breaker bar with a 3 ft pipe on the end.

BTW PowerStop are we sure these calipers got "powder coated" looks pretty weak to me. This rear caliper looks like it got chunked down the assembly line.

Just got my truck back from a whole timing job. Cam phasers, guides, chains, tensioners, vct solenoids, high volume melling oil pump, gaskets, ect. Couldnt be happier with the way it sounds now.
