Question Weird sound while driving from front end

Good Afternoon all!

06 Mark LT 4x4 89k miles

I am hearing a weird sound while driving, that I can only hear with the window open.
Sounds like shh shh shh shh shh tempo goes up and down with speed.
I was thinking maybe a hub is going bad, since the brakes are about half life left still, but its not a grinding or scraping sound.
Tires have about 15k on them, didnt notice any play with the wheels up on jacks.
Anyone else experience this?

Thanks!

Could it be a brake pad just rubbing the pad surface on the rotor? Dust shield on the rotor? I know you said it's not a scraping sound, but these sometimes sound like brushing parts.

I was thinking the same thing, I guess I can rule it out with a frontend brake job. I does sound like brushing parts.

Thanks!

Don't feel anything odd with steering or pedals the sound just speeds up when accelerating.

I chuckle each time I read this thread title.
I keep wondering if the sound persists when he's driving from the back end. tee hee

By the shh shh shh description, I feel like it should be a brake pad touching the rotor.
