Default Viscous Fan Delete for E-fan

I'm about to kick start this project. I'd like to thank Blown_Ford for his pioneer work and research. Like Blown_Ford, I bought a Motorcraft E-fan and Painless controller.

Wish me luck.

Guys,
Does a 2010 radiator fit our year without too much modification?

I'm thinking, I'd rather mess with the radiator mounting than cutting the Motorcraft E-fan to fit an 05's radiator?

Anyone has some ideas?

Well,
I took the plunge and ordered me a 2010 radiator. Keep my fingers crossed.

Check out my pictures, it's not that hard to trim the fan to fit. In fact I probably cut off more than necessary. I think the interference was with the trans line so if you switch radiators you are going to need to reroute those. If that is the case IMO it would be easier to mod the fan. Have fun! Post some pics.

No can do with 2010 radiator. Way too much modifications, especially the transmission fluid lines, but damn the E_fan fits like a glove.

Back to the old drawing board. I'm going to cut the E_fan to fit the radiator.

Default E_Fan Mounting Modifications

Went to Home Depot and bought me some aluminum 1.5x1.5"X1/8" thick angel bracket.

Lucky me! Only one out of four corners aligned to the radiator. Here are some pictures showing the modifications in order for the Fan to sit on the existing radiator mounts. Enjoy!

I totally missed your post. But, you're right. I learned the hard way. It is easier to trim the E_fan.

Check out my pics!

So by switching to efans, you basically just keep engine temps down, therefore adding power? Is there anything else to be gained?

A lot to gain.

1/ Throttle response
2/ Better engine coolant temperature control.
3/ Increase reliability.
4/ Cleaner engine compartment and easy access for routine maintenance.
5/ pro-long WP's life.
6/ Increase MPG.
