Question Upper bumper

I posted in another thread but I probably shouldn't hijack, so I'll ask here.

I'm looking at this

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-B...item35b3a1cf1f

But my truck is an XLT 5.4 extended cab. They say this one is compatible with:

2007FordF-150XLT Crew Cab Pickup 4-Door5.4L 330Cu. In. V8 GAS SOHC Naturally Aspirated

2007
FordF-150XLT Extended Cab Pickup 4-Door4.2L 256Cu. In. V6 GAS OHV Naturally Aspirated
Is there really a difference? Should that still work with mine?

Thanks!

I am pretty sure it doesn't matter what engine or cab your truck is they all use the same bumpers

I just bought this exact one for my '06 XL. It fit perfectly. The main thing to keep in mine is this: "Replacement Bumper Cover -- BUMPER COVER, PLASTIC, PRIMERED -- Without fender molding holes; A high quality, OE replacement bumper cover"

Some bumper covers have the fender molding holes and some don't. Some trucks have sort of a trim piece that goes around the fender and connects to the bumper. If yours has this, I don't think it will fit. You want the one with the fender molding holes.

If your bumper looks like mine, it should fit. Click on this link to see mine: https://www.f150forum.com/f4/my-weekend-project-113796/

The last two pictures show how the upper bumper mates with the fender.

Good luck.

Yep, looks just like mine. Here it is:

I think I'll go ahead and order it. I'll probably leave it black, I think that looks pretty sharp!

Since it's primed, I can just go ahead and paint it, right?

I primed mine anyway because I was going from black to white. Primer: $8.00 Color coat $20.00. Probably would have taken two cans of color so I went with the white primer first, then the color coat (+clear coat).

Just in case anyone is following this thread I thought I'd update. The paint & clearcoat matched well. I recommend, but man, their shipping is outrageous! Bumper off ebay matches perfect. Auto shop quoted me $1200 to fix, total cost to me was $190 and about 2 hours of work (I had to realign the chrome bumper)

Maybe it's just the photo, but yours looks like mine did, sort of a matte finish. Here's what I did to make it shine like the factory coat. I hit it with some 1500 grit wet/dry sand paper. I kept the area very wet while doing this. Then some light rubbing compound followed by some polishing compound. I got a little over zealous in some areas and took the clear coat off but the paint is bright and glossy, just like the factory coat. If yours is already like this, ignore this message. When I tried this, wasn't sure it was going to work so I did a test area under the grille area, where it wouldn't show if it didn't work. Get the 1500 grit paper at an auto parts store. Hardware stores don't care this fine of grit. Great job regardless. It's nice saving all that money.
