New user here. I have inherited a 2004 F-150 SuperCab 2x4 from my father. He bought the truck in Florida and drove it up here last summer and it started having all kinds of problems. He ended up buying a new vehicle before he drove back down.
The truck originally came with a 5.4L 3V and the engine that is in it now is a 4.6L 2V.
I am trying to identify which vehicle the "new" engine came out of. I have a few numbers off of the valve cover and also the computer. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
This is from the computer Drivers Side Valve Cover Drivers side valve cover

Reason: More Info
I don't know but
Look for paperwork in the glove compartment for possible answer. Was the work done at a dealer - you might quiz them.
Hopefully others will chime in with better info.

Unfortunately the swap wasn't done through a dealer and there is no paperwork on it.
I'm trying to figure out which 4.6 engine is in the truck now and what it came out of. I need to do some work on it and I know that some parts are not interchangeable. I want to replace the timing chain guides/ chain / tensioner and water pump.
I had a little more time to look into your question.
For the original engine search this site using the VIN, my VIN is shown, erase and insert yours https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/v...RX14W57FA49838
or try https://www.motorcraftservice.com/AsBuilt - Retrieve the as-built info for any VIN (first time you visit this link you'll need to choose country/language until a cookie is set, then the link will work)
For the new engine your photo of the valve cover information shows E1099 160804 82359164. The build date is 160804 (Day/Month/Year) Aug. 16, 2004.
My sticker (2006 f-150) shows E1900 211106 15642166.
In your reply please provide your VIN so others will have a starting point.
Hope this helps
Update:
Found this on another site E1900 is the Niche Line department ship/build code The next 6 digits are the Build Date (DDMMYY) The next 6 digits are the Sequence Number The last 2 digits are the Engine Code (62 for TP, 38 for non-TP)

I'm trying to find out which 4.6 2v is in the truck now (Windsor/Romeo PI or non PI)
The only marking I can find on the engine were those stickers on the valve cover.
that vin/truck originally came with a 4.6 Romeo
you said that it orig had a 5.4 and was swapped to a 4.6. Curious what info are/were you basing that on? Why do you think it has been swapped? and why do you think it was once a 5.4v?
4.6: if oil filter is metric it is a Romeo. It Std it is Windsor.
Take a look at this articlehttps://fordcobraengines.com/ford-mo...r-differences/
The article discusses differences in the 4.6L PI and non PI engines and may be of help to you.
"E1900" signify the Romeo plant
Also it looks like the "The last 2 digits are the Engine Code (62 for Track Pack, 38 for non-Track Pack)" applies to Mustangs
