The dealership also didn't have a key to the toolbox on my truck. How did you replace the lock? And this is pretty much how I secure my toolbox right now... It's not very safe. And the other picture is the original toolbox lock. I don't understand how you could replace it.

Lol! No, it was in my bed when I got robbed. Not the box. I had it chained up to my oiler bucket, cutter and ratchet, the dies were under the truck box in fresh step cat littler buckets full of fittings.

Thankfully I caught her in the act. But there was no doubt in my mind that she would have found a way to pull it all out and into her jeep. Chain attached! I actually thought about scaring her with my pipe reamer, but I chose a hammer to hold instead. My truck bed basically looked like a thief's Christmas that day...

Sorry to hear that. I know myself I only keep cheap (harbor freight) type stuff in mine, no problems yet. I guess thieves don't want cheap crap lol.

FML and F thieving *******s.

Edit: They left my scissor jack, 55" LCD TV mount, tarp and blanket though.
Sorry to hear about that brother. I hate liars and I hate thieves. I wish them nothing but misery, despair and poor health. If I catch someone in the act of stealing from me there will be absolutely no mercy and that person will be scarred for the remainder of their life.

I just had my own bad luck today as well. Might have to send the truck to the dealer to get the driver-side cylinder head off since the spark plug is rounded.

Sorry to hear that man. I recently got my windows tinted with 5% to help prevent thievery and I was looking at getting a tool box or bed cover to keep people out of my stuff. (I once had a drop hitch stolen)

I ended up drilling out the original lock. Had to drill all the way through it, because the tab that engages against the handle was riveted to the barrel.

You got a cheap locksmith. I was quoted between $75-90 from 3 different joints around town, and that didn't include the keys!

Edit: I found out how they "unlocked" it. The lock had some slight back and forward wiggle that I never noticed after I installed it. If you shove it backwards, you can rotate it away from the handle's tab. They must've pushed and twisted it with a screw driver.

I don't know about you, but the deductible isn't worth everything in my toolbox and the toolbox combined...
