Default Try this again...... HID problems!!

Start off with I have an 06 XLT with round fog lights and also automatic headlights. I bought a bi-xenon hid kit and tried every which way possible and cannot get the to work right. Everything is hooked up and I work when I turn the list on but as soon as I star the truck, nothing, the lights go out no pun intended and a faint high beam light on the dash. I do not want to go through the hassle in returning the kit I just want the kit to work. The kit included everything including relay and code canceler. Any help would be appreciated.

Only problem is I tried hooking it up with and without the code eliminator and I get the same problem both ways.

This is what you get when you buy cheap chinese products. HID conversion kits these days have ****-poor quality, there's a reason you can get them for 40 bucks. Pony up and purchase a quality retro-fit kit from theretrofitsource.com and have the best HID performance on the road.

DONT use the automatic light option with HID though, you'll kill the ballasts. Always manually turn your lights on after you have started the truck. Also turn off the proximity lights (lights on when you unlock). There's instructions on how to do this in your manual.

The hid kit is junk w/o a projector.

Devil's advocate: Why disable the prox lights or not have them on before starting the truck? I have a nissan with factory hids and have had the car for 90K. Also, the hids on the infinitis flash when you lock/unlock. I would think if there was an issue this wouldn't be an issue?

He's using cheap PnP HID ballasts. The constant firing of the ballasts shortens their life, and they don't have hot-restrike protection so the bulbs are at risk as well. Of course this is a non-issue with OEM quality products like the TRS stuff.
