How often are people here changing them?

Mine got changed at the 75K recommended transmission service (out of the owners manual).

It's 30k for the 5.4s normal duty. Damn, I'm glad motard brought it up.

FYI, at least on the 5.4, their is a Ford inline filter that looks like an easy install that does some supplemental filtering on the trans cooling lines. Looks like they are supposed to get installed by Ford if they warranty out your tranny.

The regular filter is in the base of the transmission. You have to remove the pan to replace.

If you change your filter, make sure you flush your torque converter, tranny cooler and lines, then fill with fresh fluid.

What kits are you guys using? Motorcraft? I've used the local parts store stuff over the years and the cheap gaskets leak after a year or two.
