Default How much boost safely

Looking to turn up the boost some on my son's 2007 Harley Davidson F150.

Right now the truck has a Whipple supercharger with the 4" pulley making about 4- 4.5psi. boost.

What would be a safe boost level for the 5.4L 3 valve motors?

I'm assuming 6-7 psi.

12+ psi. boost seems kinda extreme as far as reliability goes on a stock motor.

I'll have to look into it more before going that far with it.

Get with a tuner/performance shop and give them your goals.

They'll be able to help you determine whats "safe" for your combo.

Who tuned your truck?

I'm assuming Jim Sr. @ JDM.

Why the assumption?

I go between both JDM and Troyer for kits/parts and expertise.

FYI...It's in my sig. Troyer tuned here.

I missed the troyer tuned.

I was assuming JDM because they have a very good rep. with the saleen superchargers, I know that from my last car 2006 Mustang with saleen supercharger.

I'll give both shops a call and see what they would suggest for my son's truck.

I would be more worried about the trans not taking the torque than the motor. Am I wrong in assuming that? I am new to the F-150's so I dont know much about what power they can hold.

I believe the 4R75E TRANSMISSIONS are rated at 750 ft lbs of torque.
