Default Towing help

So lately I have been getting more big jobs that require me to use my dump trailer or 24ft box trailer every day and they really put a stress on my rear suspension. I really want to get something to help it out or else I may just upsize to an f250. I have looked at getting some airbag lifter for the back but to the whole set up it gonna cost 800 plus having them put on. Any body have any other ideas? Would like to keep it under 300 if possible.

$800 for airbags are way too much. As for putting stress on your truck, im sure as long as you dont come extremely close to the load limit or exceed it you should be fine. Three options you have though are add-a-leaf, rearblock, and airbags. I have airbags on mine and like them you can keep you truck level with them and them lower the air in them to make it close to a stock ride again when you dont have a load. Firestone and Airlift or two pretty popular brands.

Like tyler said they help with the sagging of the truck with a trailer and you can find them for around $300 or maybe even less.

Those airbags that he posted work really well. We had hem on our tow rig at work and they worked well and were easy to install. Personally Id go add-a-leaf. Its a more durable and less hassle than making sure your bags are always full, plus if you need more in the future you can still add the bags later.

I have the airlift bags and I have a small compressor that plugs into the cigarette lighter that I use for my tires and just use a tire pressure gauge to check the pressure in the bags. The compressor I use in about the size of both my hands put together, not exacty sure where to get one maybe walmart or an auto store.

Let me know how your add a leafs work. I was looking into them as I'll be pulling a gooseneck trailer soon. Let me know where you found a best price on them, that suspension connection is cheap though.

From my experience, ad a leafs make the rear suspension stiff all the time unless you have a load. For the price I would go with air bags because they are actually about the same price. You dont need a compresser and guages, yeah they are nice but its also a lot more money. You can get a set of air bags for about $250 and install them yourself. And if you want an on board compressor down the road you can add it.
