Default for those with the php gryphon programmer

Will the regular gryphon work with a CAI and throttle body spacer or will I need a CS or CTS like the edge.

I believe that you will still end up with the same lean fuel problems that people get with a standard edge programmer and a CAI. You will need custom tunes I think. You can always call and ask them.

^^^ THIS.

You CANNOT adjust for MAF TF skew with just the end-user-accessible settings, fellers! The standard Open Loop MAF table is accurate for the Stock intake only.

Get proper custom tuning with a transfer function specific to the CAI embedded, and meanwhile reinstall the Stock intake to be safe.

Note that the EVO/Gryphon can still accept custom tuning, while the CS/CTS, if purchased new, cannot.

good luck

Yes this is true. The Gryphon upgrade only barely changes the tune, but it is still set up for a stock motor with stock everything. The custom tunes will make a huge difference, I was very happy when I got mine, huge difference. Truck makes power all the way to redline

Thanks I'm planning on ordering mine next weekend and plan on getting custom performance tune for 89 octane since the intake upgrade that's all I have ran and it seems to run a lot better she's got some power for a 4.6 but then again I only have 41,000 miles on her

They recommend doing tunes for different octane levels spaced apart. Like I have a tune for 87 and a tune for 93, and there is quite a difference. To do 87 and 89, or 89 and 91 is kind of a waste, just to throw it out there
