I have a gryphon with canned tunes, no engine mods.... Is there any benefits to getting a custom tune?
Also thinking of doing the Gotts mod. I know I will need a custom tune then

That is really up to the individual to decide - most of the folks in this thread seem to think so, as do I. Some are eminently content with the canned tuning.
There are fewer compromises with custom, as it's specific to yer exact needs and is full-strategy-matched to your PCM. Almost all facets of the tuning is improved. Up to you to decide whether or not the $$$ are worth it.
good luck

The canned tunes were a huge improvement over stock ... Hard to believe that custom tunes would improve much
But for the price a couple custom tunes r worth it if there is another improvement. These tuners really wake up the 5.4

I have the 4.6 with an AEM intake I have not put the throttle body spacer in yet because I have heard mixed things about the lean issue in the 4.6 some say it will run lean some say it won't I know the intake along with the 89 octane woke mine up a lot the hole in the fender where the stock intake pulls from was full of leaves and pine needles

If you think putting the Edge on the truck made a difference, the custom tunes will be just as dramatic. Someone said some people are just as happy with the canned tunes... that's only because they don't have the custom ones! I was happy with mine too, until I got the custom ones and it was like putting an edge tuner on top of an edge tuner. It was a huge difference, ran better, shifted better and more consistent, and made more power all the way through the RPM's
