Default Texas Tint

Does anyone here live in Texas and know the rules for tinting your Screw? I just went and got my front two tinted with 35% which the place said was as dark as you can go legally. Now to the back two doors and back glass - can you go as dark as you want and still be legal/pass inspection or is there another stupid crazy law in Texas that says you cant go that dark on the back?

Thanks

Back glass can be whatever you want, cops don't care about that, it's side windows that they can check. ( they have to be able to roll a window down a bit to check how dark as they clip a small reader on the window that passes a light between the two prongs ) I did a quick check and looks like the laws in TX just changed last month but there wasn't any place that definatively said whether it was 25% or 35% now....

I know AR is 35% for driver, passenger and 20% for the rest. 20% is what the factory tint is, so I tint my driver and passenger at 20% so they match all the way around, but run the risk of having to pull it off if a cop ever checks it....

K, I know there's got to be an easy answer to this and I'll prob smack myself in the head when I see it. But for the past hour, ever since I saw this thread, I've been working and absentmindedly wondering.....

"What the hell is a ( Im a LEO )"

Law Enforcement Officer?

You gotta admit that what some may think is a "stupid crazy law in Texas...", is to protect the Law Enforcement Officers. I would not want to be in their shoes as they pull a vehicle over for whatever reason, only to not be able to see into a vehicle and have some nut pull a gun and put the officers life in danger. It's to respect them and their safety for sure. I respect that. I can live with a slightly lighter tint in order to respect their safety.

I agree with the tint laws as well. It's really for the safety of the police officers.

I got 5% on the front and 2.5% all the others and spoke to an officer the other day and he said the law is 25% on front and as dark as you want on the others
