I was thinking about just throwing some HIDs in mine and tinting the lens a little bit, but still not sure about it.

Foglamps perform best with halogen or LED, i liked the stockers with silverstars best. I don't even use my retrofitted fogs often, foreground is too intense and I don't like it. Hurts the distance vision.

I don't even turn mine on. They are just kind of there and are useless

I work in construction for 8-14 hours a day. So I get paid and I get a workout at the same time. But the results don't look good, except a fatter wallet.

Each to their own, but installing HIDs in non-projector headlights is a waste and can be considered dangerous or illegal in some areas. Not all projectors are meant for HIDs as well. There is a lot of crap out there that people shouldn't be installing on their vehicles.

Don't knock it 'till you've tried it, right? It goes far beyond a styling upgrade. I thought PnP HIDs were cool in the past too, but once you drive behind a set of quality projectors and realize the insane performance difference while not glaring into oncoming traffic, you'll never go back. THAT is the point I try to get across.

You think you get compliments now, try a retrofit...when you have better lighting than OEM Mercedes, Lexus, etc on your F150...people are wow'd big time.

And guys if you want blue, 6k in projectors actually looks quite blue since the cutoff shield and clear lens emit great color flicker. With the 6k it appears nearly purplish from a distance, but still provides decent visibility.

EDIT: Here you go, 6k in a FXR projector on a F150:

Thanks for the post, and I most certainly agree. I will be installing the FXR 3.0s on my truck sometime in the near future. The difference between a proper HID retrofit and something slapped on there half-assed is the same as comparing some cheap-*** knock-off brake pads and rotors with something that's high quality and engineered. Fact of the matter is, the better stuff costs more but the end result is you get better results.

I have 25W Cree LEDs for my foglights. I was thinking of Minis as well but I paid a lot for these genuine Crees so I better stick to them!

I'm interested to see what the output looks like on your retrofits.
