Default Tailgate Ford Emblem

Is the Ford emblem on the tail gate taped on or is it like the grill emblem and has some cheep bolts holding it on??? Ive looked pretty rigorously but havent found much. Im going to remove it to paint and match my front emblem i just did.

Looks nice. I might just do the same to mine. I'm in the process of blacking it out and that's a nice easy mod.

Pretty sure the tailgate emblems are held on by adhesive (foam tape I would guess). Try to use a heat gun with enough gradual heat to soften adhesive, but not so hot/intense as to damage the emblem. If it is adhesive, that will loosen it.

fishing line only works so far bc there are the same three pins as on the front. i used a screw driver and a towel to not scratch the paint and just pryed the ****er until i could get a couple fingers under there and rip it off.

So what's actually behind there? I'm picturing a few metal "studs" that align into corresponding holes in the tailgate with double sides foam tape doing most of the work. Am I close, or is it something different?
