Ya here in Hawaii getting exhaust work is expensive as hell!! Is there any other muffler that I can put that would make it sound louder than the super44?

You know, I'm a bit disappointed that Dodge isn't ****-up in 2080. What's that 080's grill look like?

It's a bit late, but don't gut your cats. The 5.4 is a bit touchy with maintaining some back pressure. There is a difference between an exhaust note that sounds good and plain old LOUD. One sounds nice, the other sounds cheap and lazy.

First please don't gut your cats. It's terrible for velocity and illegal. If you want louder go with a different muffler. Your friend's truck and yours are different, larger displacement doesn't always mean louder. If you're stuck on flowmaster look at the super 10 for a louder sound. If you're keeping an open mind there are many options for louder better sounding mufflers.

And no engine "needs" backpressure to function:

Holy Christ..... man look around at exhaust shops, and get on youtube to look at trucks with your motor that have different exhaust clips. I personally like the True Dual with 12 inch Dynamax Bullets. I thought that was pretty throaty sounding. check it out, ain't gonna hurt nothing.
