Default Suggestions on a programmer

I am looking at getting a programmer for my 2007 F-150. I have done some research but am looking for suggestions on which one would be the best. Mainly looking for better gas mileage. Please help with info.

My recommendation is the cheapest used one you can find.

No, it makes a huge difference in how the truck performs. I just wouldn't pay $500 for one, when you can get a decent used one in the $150-200 range. The tranny improvements make the biggest difference, I doubt there is a big difference in how each programmer changes it.

I have the edge evololution and love it. It gives your truck a lot more power. Altho it hasn't realy I'mproved my gas mileage because I can't keep my foot out of the gas.

I had an Edge Evo... good product, nice canned tunes. Gryphon is popular on here, but I didnt like the fact I had to send out my tune to someone that didnt have my truck on hand to tune, so thats what deterred me from that. So when I upgraded from my Evo, I went w/ a SCT SF3. This not only has canned tunes that are very comparable, if not better (IMO), than the Edge, but it can also store custom tunes in the unit, clear/read DTC's, and its very user friendly. Plenty of shops around no matter where you are to get a SCT Custom tune also. But then again, this is just my $.02.

Where did you get the SCT SF3 and what kind of gains did you get out of it?

Are there any companies who you send your computer out to and they tune it and send it back?(Gryphon?) I have a GMC and had this done. Made a world of differance as apposed to the hand held tuners that make little differance on a GMC.

A custom tune, so this truck isn't a dog, is the deciding factor if I buy it. It is a 2007 150 4x4 and just like all the 150s it is slow as hell. I don't expect it to be a race truck but it needs to get out of it's own way.

Another question. Do these trucks have power robbers built in? GMC had torque management so it decides how much power to put out. You remove it and that is how you really make a difference. I am hoping these trucks have something similar so the tune can make it more enjoyable to drive.
