Default Stiffer driving feeling

Hi everybody,

i add a post last week about the fact that my truck rides stiffer since i got my 2.5 leveling kit. Got the alignement done and nothing changed... do you have idea about what can cause that stiffer driving feeling espeacially at low speed...!!

It's a 2wd 04 STX supercab. 2.5 leveling kit no tires change. Everything's the same on the truck...!?!?!?

Thanks, every idea are welcome, it could a power steering leak... change in the suspension angle with the leveling kit.... no idea!

Rides stiffer or steers stiffer? I would guess that it could feel that it is riding stiffer due to the fact that the weight distribution is different with the front leveled with the rear of the truck (some shift of weigt towards the rear of the truck......maybe). As for steering stiffer (if that is what you are talking about), you got me. Does not make sense why leveling would make it steer any stiffer.

I installed a 2.5'' front Auto Spring leveling kit on a 2wd 2004 STX. And it's more like the steering that's stiffer. The front of the truck is a little bit higher now then the rear but i'm planning to buy a rear block.

The guy at the garage that installed the kit told me it can appen because of the change in the angle of the suspension. The weight distribution is not the same... not suppose to be dangerous or bad for the truck's parts.

Default stiff level ride

If you think about it, as when I leveled mine...you are now pushing down on the sway bar bushings more now than when at stock ride height... that's a thick bar to be trying to move around, and you are actually compressing the spring more too, so your out of the cushy zone where it's floating over the cracks in the road, and now your in the zone of rebounding over a speed bump..... I've also noticed that my wheel moves more in my hand after hitting a bump in the road too. anyone else? I was thinking of adding a stabilizer to help aid this.

I got my 2.5 inch autospring front lift put on yesterday and definetely notice the difference when steering sharply very slow when turning into parking spaces but hats it. It seems as though I can feel the tire more as it jumps or hits items. Almost seems like something is rubbing at sharp turns. I have my stock 17" rims and tires so i know its not that.

Sounds like the guy that installed it sounds about right. There's not too many things you can change on your suspension that's NOT gonna change your ride. Your tie rods are at a different angle then they were designed to be.

Is it a bad feeling or are you just making sure somethings not wrong???

Well... everybody that has a leveling kit seems to have to same stock driving feeling, and i don't, so i wanted to make sure there was no problems. Sometimes, it's not stiffer, sometimes it is... i don't know... and nobody seems to have the same problem then me, so i will probably always have questions.
