Steering problem
Hello! New guy on the block -- female actually. Hoping 1. I'm asking this question in the right location, and 2. someone can steer me in the right direction, if not. Speaking of steering, that's the problem. Here goes: I own a 2005 F150 4WD. While driving yesterday, my steering became difficult. It tugged while turning. It was as though it was sticking or something. Checking my oil is the extent of my knowledge when it comes to fixing vehicles, but common sense told me to check steering fluid. It was a little below the min. line, and doubted that was the problem, but topped it off, nevertheless. Unfortunately, the problem didn't just go away over night. Still having the problem today. It's not making any noise when I turn the wheel, it's just, as mentioned above, tugs/sticks when turning. It eventually straightens itself out, and there's no issue when simply going forward, but the pull/stick/tug (whatever the language) isn't right. Hoping someone here can give me their thoughts as to what the problem could be. Much thanks.
I had the same problem it's the steering shaft itself its the little u joints I just oil mine up every 6 months or so or if it starts sticking again. Pricing for a new shaft I found was about $300 don't know exact number.

I've had no luck with lubing... It works for a day, then stiffens up again. Mines getting worse, especially with hot days we've been having. I've tried silicon spray, aero kroil, liquid wrench, and PB blaster, non of them have worked for more than a day.. I'm going to try engine oil next, but I'm probably going to order a new one this week. It does seem as though this problem started once the 95 degree days came along. I'm going slather the joint in grease if engine oil doesn't work.

I used a spray Sea Foam Penetrating oil.
Then a carbon based spray lubricant after a few hours, been fine a week now.
Soaked it while the wife turned the steering wheel. With both sprays.
Both items were bought at Canadian Tire.
