Stalled while in reverse
Hey guys. 06 f150 5.4.
I changed the spark plugs on 6 cylinders today. I couldn't reach number 4 and cylinder 3 I couldn't get the plug out with my socket and setup (possibly stripped). So I was going to take it to a shop to have those two finished.
I also changed the coil packs on all 7 cylinders minus cylinder 4 which I could not reach.
I was throwing a p0306 before I did all this. Now the truck feels better but I haven't driven enough for the code to clear if it will.
I still have a loud tick and I believe it to be the tensioners/guides, etc...
But when I was backing up to park the truck just died on me. I put it in park, started it then drive and it stalled again. Put it in park then reverse and it went fine.
Why would this happen?

My Google search indicates that P0306 is cylinder #6 misfire. You may want to see what other reason is causing that cylinder to misfire. Maybe a fuel injector? Since you have a new spark plug and COP on that cylinder, it would have to be that.
Did you remove the computer and its mount? I'm sure that's why you weren't able to get to cylinder 4.
I bought this socket to remove the plugs:
And this 24" wrench:
And these three extension sets:
(extensions)
(universal join set)
(adapter set)
Also bought a 150-ft-lb torque wrench to make sure I torqued the plugs to 25ft-lbs.

So I replaced the injector. Not sure if it worked or not. Drove the car about a mile and didn't have the pending code yet. More info on that tomorrow.
But I have this tick and it seems to be getting louder or I'm just honing in on it more and more. What is causing this? Here is the link to two videos. One in motion and one at idle.
Please share your thoughts. And Thanks for all the help and advice.

That's either an exhaust leak (if the truck was cold at the time of video), a tapping spark plug, or timing component related. Does the noise go away after the engine warms up and goes past 1200 rpm?
A tapping spark plugs does make sense, the plug in cylinder #6 was bent at the bottom. How would I go about fixing this? A washer?
No the noise stays the same after warmed up and it stays there as long as your on the gas.

Is that the plug you pulled out originally, or is it the new plug you put in and then pulled back out to take a picture? That would for sure cause a misfire. . . . . .
Either way, the only way I can think of that is going to turn out okay is if you dropped the plug or some how bent it pulling it out, maybe it happened on a previous plug change . . . anything else means something hit it and that is as bad as it gets.
I think next is a compression test on cylinder 6, maybe an endoscope to look into the cylinder. . . .
