Besides, according to the locals, the best exhaust performance booster is a 1/4" drill bit and your favorite power drill....

Yup. Like I said just an extension pipe for different wheel bases. You're not going to see any improvements in performance by putting in a straight pipe.

So, why would Ford go through the expense of doing it? Sound control?
