Default That squeezed bit of exhaust pipe in front of the muffler

So, a bunch of searching is leaving me with nothing....

Has anyone replaced that goofy squished-down section of pipe ahead of the muffler with normal straight pipe?

Notice anything? Performance? Sound? Debt?

thanks!

http://www.tascaparts.com/ford/f-150...extension-pipe

Its just an extension pipe. I think the purpose of it its to allow for the different cab/box lengths. I doubt you would see or hear any difference at all.

^^if this is the piece of pipe you are referring to, then yes, this is an extension pipe. BadFish hit the nail on the head. They are used for accommodating the different wheelbase lengths.
