Default Sputtering and poor take off..

I have a 2005 ford f150 and when I get on the gas it sputters very bad and then the check engine light starts flashing. What could this mean?

Correct me of I'm wrong, but a flashing check engine light (cel) means a misfire. How many miles on your truck and have the plugs been changed. I have a similar problem and most will say its the spark plugs or the coils. I'm new to the f150, but from what I've read the plugs or coils or even both could be your problem. Try a search if u haven't already, and I'm sure others will chime in...

Oh yeah, clean your mass air flow sensor and throttle body along with changing your fuel filter if u haven't lately...

Yeah that's what the light means. Where can you find cheap coils at?

Amazon has a set of 8 accel coils for less than $250. Just make sure the part number ends in 3 if you have the 5.4
