Default Spark plugs updated?

Saw a reference to this, searched and can’t find anything.

So, for our trucks...has the SP515 been updated recently? What is the part number?

Thanks -

How much were those COP's if you don't mind me asking?

Let us know how they hold up!

On a complete side note, I hate MC's new logo/look.

From what I am seeing, the new ones are a true one piece vs the welded plugs on the 515

Thank you for bring this to my attention.
I looked at a set of plugs that have not been fitted yet, they are for my 2004 5.4
SP -479 (AGSF22WM)
Are these plugs superseded too?

If the 2004 is a Heritage model, then yes, those will work. The 479 is NOT for the 3v.

@ Nut Kase!!

Sorry for the delayed response.

I got them for $37 off Amazon.

I was a bit reluctant to purchase cheap parts until I kept reading on this forum that many folks had good luck with them.

This particular brand is a "best seller" and had 5 stars out of around 3000 reviews.....pretty good. Most of the bad reviews I read were more about shipping issues than product failure. So, I went with it.

I'd purchased 2 already from Orileys for 47 bucks each. I was just getting one here and there till I had all 8 to install. I took them both back and had enough money to buy the plugs and coils!

Quality seemed equal to the OEM ones I removed. That is, far as mils of the rubber and plasticity/flexibility. Springs seemed the same gauge and tensile strength far as I could tell. And, the coil itself seemed equal as far as weight and size.

Packaging was excellent. Boxed nicely, and each individually packaged inside.

Don't know if any of that means anything but, Ida been more reluctant if Id been able to tell differences in those areas that would indicate cheap parts or manufacturing.

I'd be happy to send you the seller/link if you like.

Take a look at a few of these plugs I removed. The one oddball plug is the one the ford dealer installed when cylinder 7 injector got stuck, caused hydrolock about 7-8 years ago. Youd think they would have matched the other plugs or replaced them all with the same atleast.

I dont know what different plugs would effect but, I'd think it has to be better off now.

Plug from No.5 Cylinder next to new plug. I'd say it was a little worn!! Huge gap.

Left to right, cylinders 1 & 2

Bottom, Cylinders 5,6,7. Top, Cylinders 1,2

Cylinders 5,6,7

Thank you very much for that info! Are those the originals that you pulled out? They actually look relatively normal for being over 7 years old. I would be happy that you were able to get them out. Did 3,4, and 8 break off?
