Default Running Rich

I installed a CAI and now I am running rich according to Autozone. There wasnt a specified bank, it just said it was running rich. Can this cause harm to my truck other than gas milage? What do I need to do to fix it?

Did you remove the negative termial while installing? It helps your ecu readjust. If not a good tuner should do the trick.

Yeah I removed the positive side, either way it resets. And I feel a tuner in my futuer. It is just is it worth spending the crazy high price to get a tune from troyer? Do I really need a livewire, or will the tuner just work?

an Xcal2 will work. Troyer prices are on par with all the other SCT dealers.

What I am asking is are there really any need for guages? And If I just get the xcal2 now, can I add on the livewire guages afterwords?

If you let it run to rich for too long it will eventually hurt your engine. Too much fuel for too long can be dangerous. I'd get a tuner or try unplugging the negative ((black)) wire and re-connecting it and it will prolly solve your problem.

Why does it matter which wire I disconnect? Either way the truck loses power. And the PCM cant gain power from just the negative. I have reset it though many times. The CEL goes away, and then comes back a couple of hours later.

I would go with a tune from VMPtuning.comThey are getting great reviews and are much quicker than troyer, and since you need one soon I would go with them.

The truck still has power if you don't disconnect the negative wire. If you unplug the positive and then unplug the negative it will spark which means that the truck still has power.
