Default reverse sensor issue

i have an '07 lariat 4x4 screw w/ the 5.4l. im having a backup sensor issue. when i start her up and put her in reverse she run the normal beeps(test i guess) then the off light pops on and then they dont work. i checked all the connections and they are good, so are the fuses. also the seatbelt alert doesnt work now either. it doesnt chime when you dont put on your belt. any ideas? i did just put in led brake lites and the load equalizers also. i still have reverse lites and the led's work great the problems seem to have started a couple days after the led's went in. but the 2 systems are unrelated.

Maybe something shorted, or (and I'm not saying it in a degrading mode) you pressed the reverse sensor off button? It's lit when they're off. But if seatbelt and reverse are both not working, maybe something got disconnected, shorted, etc when they were wiring up your leds.

no, there are no "test beeps"........ there was a thread about this a while ago. I think the problem was traced to a bad sensor.

Would one bad sensor stop the whole system from working? Sorry, I'm new to the forums (and new to F150s as well, so I won't claim my answer has any merit).

Yea, that's prob'ly it.

I have problems if there is just a tiny bit of ice or crystalized road salt on mine.

I'm necro posting this because I felt no need to start another one with this topic. I searched and read the other thread that mentioned trouble shooting it down to the sensor(s). Also bringing this to the top for subscription and later viewing when I trouble shoot.

I'm having this exact problem, only the sensor OFF light immediately turns on when I put it in reverse. Sometimes it will give a quit chirp, other times it wont. Sometimes while driving down the road I can turn the light back off (putting it in reverse when stopped again turns the OFF light back on). I'll start with the sensors since that seems to be the general consensus.

It started after we had a few days of hard rain and my truck just sat in the driveway, perhaps a sensor got wet and is damaged now.
