Default Replacing shocks

I did some searching on here and found some good info, but some of it was old. I am in need of new shocks, my '07 has 105k miles and is a bit clunky over bumps. I have a leveling kit that the previous owner installed and love the stance. If I take it into a local shop can they replace shocks and keep level so stance is the same? Or, should I buy specific shocks and take them in? Feedback appreciated....

Always heard good thing about Bilstein 5100 shocks, or if you have the money, fox racing shocks.

What is your budget and what do you use the truck for?

Like mentioned above, the Bilstein 5100's are the best bang for the buck but they are currently on Backorder for until June.

I guess it all depends on what your gonna do with your truck... pavement pounder...just have the stock shocks and struts replaced....mild off roading go with Billies or something like some RS9000's.... heavy wheelin...invest in FOX or King or something like that... it's all about what your gonna be doing and how much money you want to spend. Replacing what you have now will keep the truck level...if you go with up graded Billies or Rancho...you may want to consider removing the leveling spacer...because the 5100's and Rancho quick lift's will provide this level...

If the front end is a little "clunky" check every single ball joint in the front. I garuntee at least one is on its way out or already toast.

If you want to do them yourself and keep it fairly cheap and easy look at ordering the Monroe quick strut from RockAuto. It already has the spring mounted so it 3 top bolts and the big best at the lower control arm. As for the rear, I have stated before I am extremely happy with the Monroe load control shock. They ride great and the truck does not squat at all when you drop a 4 or 5k lb trailer on the hitch (i.e. 400 to 700lbs of tongue weight), but yet unloaded rides just fine. I use them in my mini-van as well.
