removing. silencer

Just did the gotts mod yesterday. Love the difference. But was reading people saying to remove the silencer. How does one do this and where are the silencers located. I have a 05 scab xlt 5.4

The silencers are on the intake pipe. They are the big bladder looking things on the tube. I actually removed mine today, and plugged them with plumbing plugs. Motor sounds louder but nothing else.
