Removing clamp on leaf spring

And actually looking at it again, the hook doesn't look like it would even be able to come off because it wraps around the top spring a little.

I tried to tell you they are not really made to come apart. They are built as packs. yes you can get them apart like anything else. Good luck

I bought it from my Ford dealership. Didn't replace them though so not sure if they are even worth replacing.

I ran into this a couple years ago. I installed a 1 inch add a leaf to the pack. According to 4wheel parts procomp was the only option and it was only $100. The spring length made it fit between the existing leafs which meant it had to be separated. I ground off the pin inserted the leaf and reassembled without the clips. 3 years later no issues. Increased my payload capacity and now my truck doesn't sag with a load due to the leveling kit.

Did ur truck squeek a lot or does it with the plastic parts missing between the leafs?

It did squeak but it turned out my springs were actually damaged so I replaced the entire leaf spring packs. My bushings in my shackles also squeak so you might want to look into those before you go ahead and mess with your springs.
