rear diff

Question rear diff

can so one tell me how i could go about upgradeing my rear diff from a open to limited slip right now it has 8.8 3.55 what do i need to buy or should i go to a junk yard a flip a coin and hope the rear end is good?

Really it depends on your budget and condition of the internals. If everything is fine, no leaks at the front seal, no noisy bearings, gears ok, etc. At minimum, you could just swap out the differential and not worry about setting up clearances and gear lash. I would look into the Eaton Trutrac over a normal clutched LSD.

I went to there website and they have detroit trutrac but it does not give me a price for it

That won't fit an 8.8 but yes the True-track is the way to go.

This is a question in the same general area as this thread. I own a 2007 F150 STX, 4x2. Is there a way to know if this rear axle has 28 or 31 spline shafts?
