Default Radio swap

I have been wondering if I can swap my current factory system (single cd)stereo for the factory navigation system with satellite radio? I know I will have to add antennas for nav and sat but what else if any thing would need to be changed? I have a 2007 supercrew

Welcome to the site. You'll be able to swap it. I'm not sure where you're wanting to order the nav system from but the dealership will include all the necessary hardware if you buy it from them. You will have to purchase the antenna for the satellite radio if you decide to do that too. I recently bought a Kenwood in-dash tv/dvd player for my truck and payed about $800 for it with nav and an iPOD hookup.....just for you to compare prices on the one that you want to get.

Mine also looks factory. I have pics if you're interested in seeing them.

I am trying to keep it as factory looking as possible. I also have a sirius plug and play unit and was just wanting to use that feature off of the factory unit as well as the navigation. here is the link of what I had looked at using.

Also if you don't mind send a pic of yours plus the model number of the unit.

WOW I wish I would have found that when I was shopping. All the ones I found were all over $1k.

And I understand "trying to keep it as stock looking as possible." I wanted the same thing. Mine is the Kenwood DDX7019 with the nav system. Here's a pic of my Kenwood.

Let me know if you have any questions and I'd be happy to help!!!

Triton - I like the look of your's alot better than the factory model. I like the nice smooth look of it as opposed to all the buttons on the factory model. I think I'm all done with the appearance/performance mods for my truck so it may be time to start with the audio mods. Just got to talk the wife into it after dropping another $1k for the gears and cover.

How tough is the install on something like this? I have never even attempted insatlling a stereo in any previous vehicles so wondering if a noob like me could do something on this level or would I need to have it professionally installed? Looking on ebay they have some pretty good deals with the nav unit, which I would need because I already have a Garmin unit.

Thanks wxmcpo!!! Try to convince her that it will be benificial for the whole family and not just you.....lol!!

It's honestly not hard. If you order it from Crutchfield they'll send you all the necessary hardware and all the instructions on how to do it or you can take it to a local shop for the install. It's honestly not that hard. The only part that takes a little bit of time is splicing the wiring and connecting them but that didn't take but a few minutes. They'll also send you a mounting kit for your specific vehicle.

Triton - That looks VERY nice. You got me looking around for one... If you don't mind me asking, what did it set you back? I have seen the Kenwood 7100 on ebay for around $800... How does the 7100 compare to your 7019? any way of hooking up a "factory looking" rear camera to it?

Thanks for the compliments ALJR. My total price was $825 from Crutchfield and the only reason it was that much was because I added an iPOD hookup and I had it shipped 2nd day air.

Let me know if y'all have anymore questions and I'll be more than happy to answer them!!!
