Default Programmers ??

I've read several of the posts concerning programmers and can't figure out which to buy. I'm hoping to locate a programmer which will improve the truck and its perforblomance AND is easy to use. I've found hypertech, diablo, and edge recently. Recommendations ??

I have an Edge CTS, my friend had an Edge Evo, and my dad has had a few by Edge. I like mine and I got it off craigslist for 1/3 of amazon new cost. Most difficult part for me was deciding which gauges I wanted displayed.

The Edge Evolution can be easily be converted to run PHP's Gryphon firmware, which has supposedly better 'canned tunes'. I don't know anything about the other brands you mentioned.

I also have the edge programmer for my 2004 F-150 for towing, great tool. It came with the tow, gas mileage, and drag race program, with the one blank one to download your factory program to so that you can load the program that you want. It also has the check engine code program so that it tells you what and where the problem is. Great tool.
Thanks,

I went with an Edge; for the simple reason that it was cheap (bought it used), came with a nice dash pod, provides engine and transmission temp readings instantly on its display (along with many others to choose from), and has been around for some time, a good track record.
The others are just as good, so it will come down to looks, ease of use, and price.

SCT X4. Love it. They pretty much all work well. If you're getting it just to get a custom tune, it won't really matter which one you get as long as it's capable of pulling the stock tune and putting on the custom tune.

SCT and Edge are by far the most popular and best for the F series out of all the tuner brands and I deal with pretty much all of the different brands.

SCT look for the SF3 3015 or X4 7015 model tuner, Edge look for the EvoHT or the CS/CTS models.

Hit me up if have any tuning specific questions, glad to help.
