the EDGE is a great unit. the ability to monitor other parameters is awesome. it has an easy install, and you can remove the unit when programmed if worried about theft. i have been hearing a lot of great things about the Gryphon too.... basically an Edge unit with different programming.

If you like the edge look, go for the Gryphon from Power Hungry Performance as it is a custom tuned version of the generic edge. Stay away from the Diablo sport crap. Another option is the SCT devices tuned by VMPtuning or Troyerperformance.

If your truck is stock the Edge work's fine. Any amount of mod's, mainly the cold air intake and exhaust you can always get the Edge upgraded to a Gryphon with custom tunes later for even better performance.

The Edge is an awesome programmer, however you cannot remove its signature from your computer even if you set your truck back to stock. So if you took your ride to the dealership their gonna toss your warranty if they see it on a dyno reading. Superchips makes a good product, I personally own one, the only bad things about it is it doesn't give you 0-60 times, intake temp, etc. like the Edge nor can it be sent off and custom programmed for a custom tune like the xcal.

well, its the truth. The Edge is marketed on a cool display and the magazine reviews which we all know are just a payola scheme to sell more units. The magazines say NOTHING of the trans shudder issues, of the lock up clutch cooking, but talk about the "hp gains". All of that means nothing if your convertor lock up clutch bakes all of its friction material. But, how many times does this problem need to be stated before people stop spending money because the Edge looks cool?

But if you are planning on doing some serious mods get the xcal or something that can be custom tuned.
