^Good setup, but as said before the custom tunes are a step above the canned programmer. I went from canned tunes to custom tunes on my old 5.4L and wouldn't think twice about going for custom over canned.

Might as well get the Gryphon. Like the above poster said, it’s the exact same as the Edge, but you can order it with custom tunes. They are the same price and you just have to pay $30 per custom tune. I have 2 custom tunes for mine. 87 oct performance set up with smooth shifts and designed for daily driving and efficiency. And a 91 oct performance set up for 0-60 and just to have fun with.

Thanks guys, so by "canned" you mean the tunes that come pre-installed when you buy the Edge? I can call Edge and have them do the custom tunes for my particular truck by telling them my setup?

Thanks for the feed back, i will be getting an exhaust put on shortly. I already did the Gotts mod and dropped in an k&n air filter. Tune will come after the exhaust... Most likely magnaflow?

Yes canned tunes are the tunes written by Edge. While these tunes are better than stock, they compromise in many areas to be able to work. Only PHP can create true custom tunes for Edge products which will take in every consideration and make a custom tune for your truck and your needs.

Thanks bud, glad I got that cleared up! I actually emailed PHP, we'll see what they can do for me

Go look around on their site. Honestly, if you want an Edge, just get a Gryphon. Bill, who owns Power Hungry Performance, wrote the canned tunes on the Edge. He worked there before he started his own company. I think he still does consulting for the makers of the Edge. www.powerhungryperformance.com. Check em out, you won’t be disappointed. The custom tunes are MUCH better than the canned, pre loaded tunes that come on the Edge. PS; when get your Gryphon, they have the same "canned" tunes as the Edge comes with. They then send you your custom tunes once they are written. So you will be able to actually see what the difference is. Its VERY noticeable.

All very helpful info, thanks a lot. Do I have to send them my Edge or do they sell them already loaded up?

If you have an Edge, you have to send it to them so they can convert it to a Gryphon that will accept custom tunes. If you have a Gryphon, they can just send you the tunes in an email.
