Default programers

Hello I'm new to the forum and I'm wondering what programmer is best for my truck, I have 35" tires(no regear yet), 2.5 hbs level, cool air intake and my truck is straight piped. I want a programmer that won't break the bank and can adjust tire and gear size and have a number of canned and custom tunes

I have yet to purchase one but everyone on here talks about the "edge evolution" programmer. I myself have a 2010 model "power programmer 111" (ole style) but works for my set up. I have 35's with a 6" rough country lift, CAI plus the programmer.

Should not be running a canned device's tunes on a slot-style MAF truck with an aftermarket CAI/WAI.

It results in MAF TF skew, which = bad juju.

OP - all you need to know:

MPT has a forum discount, so you pay even less. Spectacular tuning.

Suoperchips is the same as company as SCT.

An X3? Which model? Model 3000 or 3015?

Is it Unlocked? Pass if it isn't - even it it's free.

You need to find out;

3000 - is custom-only; you'll need to buy all new tunes - the ones on there will NOT work on yer truck.

3015 - comes with preloaded canned tuning from SCT - will accept custom calibrations.

One more thing before you buy - obtain the s/n and contact either SCT or one of their dealers. Earlier revision models will not be compatible with later model yer trucks.

Lastly - you'll have no warranty. And depending upon how much you pay, if you then add the cost of a few custom tunes, it not be all that much cheaper than buying a Brand-new X4 - with a warranty and tunes included.

Remember to update it via the web as soon as you get it and BEFORE you do anything else - it may be missing a critical patch and be down-rev, firmware-wise.
