power window issues
Hi all, this is my first post, I've been coming to this forum for some time to read up on different topics. Thanks for all the help so far. I can't figure out the window problem on my 2006 f150 xlt. The passenger front window quit working, I can't control it with the master or passenger door switch. I put in a new regulator and motor (turns out the old one is still fine), and tested all the switches with ones that I know work in another truck. I can hot wire the motor and it functions properly. I have power to the switches. I know that the wires from the passenger switch to the window motor work. Is there a sometimes problematic wire elsewhere? I'm not experienced, but I think I understand the basics as to how they work. Any suggestions are more than appreciated.
Have you tried a new master switch on the drivers side? All of the other window switches are run through the master. Also pull your door panel and follow the wiring harness through the door into the truck. They have a problem with kinking, breaking, ect. Also the contact on your switches might be corroded. There is a thread on how to take it apart and clean the contacts but its more of a temp fix. Tou can get the master switch from ford for about sixty bucks if you dont find any damaged wires.

My passenger switch on the driver's door seems to require a hard push and sometimes some wiggling. I guess the previous owner just kept pushing the button harder and harder until the window went up. Pushing it to go down works as it should. Just getting it to go up is the problem. But now my driver side window is doing the same. I guess I'll need new switches/buttons?

JoeRnCT,
It sounds like the switches, before buying new ones you should pull them out and clean the contacts. That worked for others, sometimes the tab needs to be bent down slightly also to make the contact easier. Once you pop them open its self explanatory and easy to do.

I had similar issues with my 04. I ended up having to change the master switch out on the drivers side door and it fixed my issues. Both of the passenger windows would roll down, but not up, and the drivers side window would roll down and not up. Put in a new master switch on drivers side and I have some smooth rollin windows now.
