***please i need help****
i have a 2004 f-150 with a 5.4, 99,500 miles, i have had it for six weeks and have had nothing but problems, the dealer had already changed the plugs, and coils, then they changed the fuel pump driver module, and then the vct solenoids, and now my problem is still with me GRRR... my problem is a bas misfire and then the check engine light comes on it has done it 4 times now and nothing seems to fix it and now i am also hearing that ticking or lite nocking sound what could my problem be...***PLEASE I NEED HELP***
You've asked about this multiple times. With constant misfires, I have to wonder a few things:
Were the plugs ACTUALLY changed? And if so, were the right plugs used?
Were the COPS changed?
Was dielectric grease used?
were the boots changed?
If all of the above were done properly, and if the gaps are correct for a boosted engine, then I'd suggest checking the harness from the injectors and the COPs.

the computer has been saying coils first it was #5 then it was #3 and #6 and then i had it checked again and it came up with #3,6,8 coils so the mechanic said he new what was wrong and changed the vct solenoids. the sound has gotten loader in the last 2 to 3 weeks while i have been having this problem now my dealer is saying he has a guy thats sure its the cats plugged up, of course after i told him that the ford garage in town said it was the cam phasers and it would cost more than 2 grand. sounds like they r working around the problem to me.
