I stand corrected. I thought I saw someone say bad things

I too have seen some negative comments about the Accel coils - not to say they are not good or even equal or better than the MC. The MC can be bought for the same on ebay and are made in USA if that sort of issue sways you.

Hi.

Good or bad ( and I have seen more bad than good with Accel - hit & miss - pun intended ) ... there is NO reason to buy them when you can pay aboot the same for high quality European Motorcraft ( a.k.a Visteon).

My take away, after looking at A LOT of posts on this subject is that the MC are just plain old higher quality and will give long, irritation free service....like around 100k of no nonsense. Just make sure you get the right ones Dg508, 510, or 511 depending on your yearand engine.

MGD..., again with an intelligent and witty response. Love that guy. I will take it one step further and say there's no reason why you need to replace any coil packs that aren't bad.... therefore being able to justify spending the extra money for OEM parts by replacing only the one that's N/G. I've heard bad things about cheaper aftermarket coil packs and have been advised against buying them by mechanics I trust.

Got to agree with JCooper, however with three causing you issues and no scan tool, I still would go with a full set unless you have more time than money.

Also, for the record Mars is often visible without a telescope.

I agree if there is, in fact, 3 misfiring cylinders.... but if that were the case, how the hell would the truck even run, let alone drive? I haven't heard of 3 coils going bad at once. Seems kinda weird. Maybe I'm wrong....

Truck runs like absolute garbage. Terrible throttle response. Truck shakes like a B**** in the morning and its that the cylinders do not miss every single time but alot. And the cylinders are 1,2 and 5. Which are easy to get to. Wondering if bad COPs fouled out plugs. And yes it barely runs. But last night she ran like a damn racecar. Ran like a freaking beauty. But I tried pushing her and my truck just dumped it all and I got a skip in everything. Definitely pushed my transmission to the limits last night and it slipped cause I was pushing my truck off the line big time

I know the feeling very well, unfortunately. So if you know what cylinders are misfiring, I'm assuming you have a scan tool or access to one or a sweet *** tuner or something. Try switching one or more of the CPs on the missing cylinders to other cylinders not showing a misfire to see if the misfiring cylinder # changes accordingly. That would pretty much narrow it down to bad CPs.
