PLEASE HELP! COP and Plug problems
Like this, It plugs into the computer port under the dash and lets the torque app(5 dollars in the google play store) connect to the cars computer. Has the ability to read all kinds of data from the car including misfires on individual cylinders.
Some work some are junk. I think the one i linked to does. The torque app has a forum that has a list of adaptors that work. I have had torque for years. It also gives you all the readings that ford left off your dash. Lets you read and clear codes.
I assume that if you needed new plugs, you have some miles on the truck. If your plugs are new and your coil packs are not, I would seriously consider a set of MC coils - can get them online for about $200 for all eight and you will probably be set. Seems like most people start having OEM coil failures by around 80-90K. DO NOT get the aftermarket cheap cheap coils - trust me on that. Also - there are many sellers online (especially eBay) that package Motorcraft plugs in a set with cheap coils so that they can use Motorcraft in their ad title, watch out for that one!
