Angry Paint issues WTF

Does anyone else have paint flaking issues on their hood. I know I've been told that silver paint doesn't hold up very well but I didn't think it would be this bad.

I got a very and I mean very tiny rock chip on my hood in december and now its just out of control. The first three pics are from monday and the last two are from thursday. The small chip on the side of the hood just popped up out of no where.

Monday:

Thursday:

I don't know what the heck is going on. I don't have that many miles on my truck. I bought it with 50k 9 months ago and it just flipped 70k yesterday.

Wow, that's not good. I've seen many vehicles do this. Not so much F150's though. I think the simple truth is you got a bad paint job. Is there any chance your hood is not original? Maybe it's not a factory paint job. Regardless, I think you'll have to get it painted again. That's the only way to fix it for good. Sorry man.

the inside of my tailgate has done the same thing, only I have lost about 65% of the paint. Of course ford won't do anything about it just like the crappy fading emblems.

i've done a carfax on it and it didn't show anything. i also took it to my paint/body guy who's been doing it for 35+ years and he said its factory paint and hood.

Wow! I've never seen anything like that! My Black '06 doesn't have a single rock chip in the hood with 84K miles on it.

You might want to get one of those bug guards for the front edge of the hood, I hear they are good at deflecting rocks.

And did you ever have someone clean it for you that did not know how to properly use a power washer? Some idiots did the same thing to my wife's Montero and even knocked off some of the bolts on the aftermarket chrome rims.

I have to have my bedside and rear bumper repainted also. My bedside has really deep scratches down to the fiberglass from the previous owner trying to attach a ratchet strap to the hook on the outside of the bed. And my rear bumper is starting to get some rust from where rocks have chipped off the paint (I live on a gravel road).

I'm going to have the entire hood, beside and rear bumper sanded down and repainted. My guy said it would be $1000 for everything. How does that compare to what others have paid?
