Default Paint

Hey guys, I bought my 04 XLT scab used. I guess the guy liked chrome and I've been getting tired of it so I'm asking what would be the best way to go about painting the bumpers black? Should I prime first? With what? And what would be the best paint to use? I want a matte finish. And I live in the desert if that changes anything. Thanks in advance for any help.

Search for plasti dipped bumpers, I have heard of covering with vinyl also, luckily mine came painted. FX trucks and STX trucks came with painted to match bumpers

I was thinking about he vinyl but how would that work with the black plastic step on the rear bumper? And the lower valence on the front?

Cut around it or take the plastic off. Vinyl is really easy to work with.

No prob, PlastiDip may be easier but Vinyl has more color and texture options. I like both but of you just want flat black, I'd go with PD
