No problem. Its always good to eliminate the newest variables one at a time when trouble shooting.

And when I initially contacted MPT, they said it couldn't be the air intake or the tune - so I've been looking at everything else, and not finding anything.
They claim their tunes are flawless but I'm having issues with mine under medium throttle. Light throttle it does fine, wide open it does incredible. Medium throttle when I get to around 40, my rpms dip which causes the engine to bog down until I hit 45 then they jump back up when it shifts. I haven't gotten around to sending the email yet, hopefully tomorrow. It's been crazy since I got the tune installed.

Mine does that too, around the same speed range (that's about 70 km/h, right?), but the RPM never dipped so much that it bogs or sputters or anything so I didn't think anything of it.

That cant be normal.....has to be the tune if multiple people report it. Only real custom tune in my book is a tune written after data logging. All other tunes are generic one size fits all type of tune. I love my Gryphon conversion and my own settings, good performance and I regularly hit 20 mpg's.

I believe that's the same range. It doesn't sputter, and most would probably miss it.

Summers, we're running custom tunes that have supposedly been extensively data logged on a dyno. They say there's no need to data log their tunes and that the tunes work perfect as soon as they're installed. I need to send them video of what mine is doing. It's definitely a tune thing.

I hear ya, but the only way to get a real custom tune is live data logging from that particular truck. No 2 vehicles react the exact same from the same "custom" tune.

Totally agree now that I've got this one. Aside from that issue the tune is absolutely wonderful. If I can get this issue worked out I'll be happy. There's times that I don't want to take off like I'm driving Mrs daisy, but don't want a full power takeoff (weird huh?). But I don't like doing the middle because of the bog and weird shift. It makes people uneasy and everyone starts questioning what's going on.

Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one. At least this means that I'm not crazy, haha. I guess MPT has some complaints to field come morning.

Okay, so swapped the stock intake in, and no CEL, no stumbling on decell, and more even power application on accell. So I put the custom intake back on, recorded a neutral step datalog, and sent it to MPT.

They said it DEFINITELY needed a re-tune, because it's pulling in more air than an off-the-shelf CAI and the fuel tables couldn't level-out the a/f ratio. They even sent the updated tune files over before I paid for the update ($18) in good faith so that I could get 'em right away. Loaded them into the tuner, and re-tuned the truck. She's now tip-top, and running strong. HUGE difference. I highly recommend sending data logs to MPT if you're having trouble with any of their tunes. Before the re-tune, I also had an issue were my ignition timing was yo-yoing between 14 degrees and 34 degrees when going downhill with my cruise control still engaged - which has also been fixed. The engine RPM still dips around 70 km/h, but not to the point of it bogging down.

Overall, super relieved.

Sounds like I need to do some datalogging then. It's been crazy with the semester wrapping up and finals approaching so I haven't had time to do anything with it.
