Default New Window Switch

For the past few weeks the window switch on the passenger side hasn't been working right. The window would go down, but sometimes it would go up and sometimes not. Today, my wife got fed up and told me to fix the damn thing. I looked up a previously posted thread on switch repair, so I took the switch out and cleaned the contacts the best I could. I put the switch back in and it didn't work. I went to the ford dealership to buy a new switch and guess how much it cost me! Are you sitting down? I paid $124.62 with tax!!. I put the switch in and it works perfectly. At least the wife's happy. I guess it's a small price to pay to keep her out of the driver's seat.

Mine wouldn't wind the window on the driver and passenger side, and I bought a new one on ebay for $60. The thing is, after i bought the new one and it was being shipped, i fixed the old one by simply pressing the down button on the control really fast repeatedly for 10-15 seconds for each window. That was a few weeks ago now, and it worked perfectly since then. At least I have an extra switch in case it breaks again.

Her card, my card, don't matter. It all comes out of the same pot.

Well actually when I opened it up I noticed the contact on the driver side was a lot dirtier than the rest. So I cleaned it first when I did I saw the contact looked like it was dented in the middle so I bent that connecting tab a little also. Working great!

I paid $99 installed for my driver window switch 2 yrs ago at the ford shop.......now I still can control all my windows from the driver door but none of the other 3 door's buttons will move the windows up or down all the time. Seem to have a mind of their own.
