New Guy
Hello guys, the name's Dylan, I'm 19 year's old, and from Huntington Beach.
I'm brand new to these forums and brand new to F-150's. I just got mine 3 days ago. its 2007 FX2 F-150 5.4 Liter.

I'm think im going to keep this truck away from off road mods considering its only 2WD and its my daily driver now. (my previous daily driver was my 1992 Mustang GT 5.0, which is now my project car).

I'd like to hear what all of you guy's have done to your F-150's (lift/lower, engine mods, rims, cd/dvd players, etc.) and what are some cheap mods to do to increase MPG (if any), increase HP, good exhaust systems that will make my truck sound like a truck, indash multimedia systems, etc...
oh and please list the websites/store names that you order your parts from.
thanks,
-Dylan

WOW that's a sexy lookin' truck Dylan!!!
First of all welcome to the site. I know you'll love it here because there's PLENTY of info on here for ya'.
Now about the mods.....
Exhaust..I'd say go with the Banks Monster exhaust system. I'll be getting it shortly and will definitely make your truck sound like a beast
HP Gains...go with a CAI. I'm going to be getting the Banks Ram-Air system after I do exhaust. The CAI together with the exhaust system will give you a little bit of a HP gain.
as far as multimedia go I recommend www.Crutchfield.com. I've had AWESOME success with them and they are a pleasure to deal with with excellent customer service.
Hope this helps and once again sexy lookin' truck!!!

hey man, welcome to the site...
my exhaust i just put on 2 days ago is a flowmaster 40 series american thunder...my friend and i did it completely custom, so it comes out the side just like the ford lightnings there in front of the rear wheel...it gave the truck a very very very nice sound and a little bit of performance, and flowmaster just came out with a new muffler called the 44 series which is the loudest thing they got so far, as far as multimedia, crutchfield is the way to go, if you are tight on cash, u can always check out what they have, and then google it for better prices....

Wecome to the site. Here is a Mod thread and here is a Exhuast guide thread. Shows what some of us have done. Click on My Gallery and you can see some pictures of my mods.
A Custom tuner would be the first thing I would get. That will turn off the rear 02 and allow you to turn off the rev and speed limiters. Welcome to the site.

First off welcome to the site Dylan and you have a very nice truck there. Here's a couple pictures of mine, take a look at my signature for all the mods done so far.

Watch out for that mod bug though because once you start it's very hard to stop. You may be able to find a few mods that have been rumored to increase gas mileage (custom tune & CAI), but it'll take you more than a couple years in gas savings to recoup the money you spent on the mod originally. You mod because you want to increase performance, looks or sound.
My first suggestion would be an Xcal II with custom tunes from Troyer Performance and combine that with an AF1 from them as well.

This guy is the absolute best in the business when it comes to custom tuning these trucks. Give his staff a call and they will take their time explaining how they can wake your truck up. I have the 3" AF1 intake on my truck and let me tell you when I installed it on my truck the difference was night and day, the change in throttle response was dramatic. They also have a 3.5" AF1, but that one requires you to have custom tuning where the 3" tube does not. Even though I do have the custom tuning I went with the 3" tube so that for those trips to the dealership I can return my truck back to the stock tune.
As for exhaust I'll be going with a Magnaflow dual exhaust straight out the back, most likely this one;

Good luck to you and keep us posted on the progress of any mods you do. Oh and don't let anyone stop you from modding your 2WD the way you want it, mine's a 2WD, but I'd take it over most 4WD trucks I've seen on the road.
