Default New Edge Programmer

So, I got my programmer in the mail today (woo! ) and after I updated it, went to plug it into my truck, and nothing. It lit up when plugged into the computer, so I don't think its the programmer. I know the cigar lighter and OBD port share the same fuse (#41) but my cigar lighter works..could it just be a bad ODB port?

Did you turn the key to the ON position just before the ignition?

Otherwise maybe check the wiring behind the obd port and make sure that it hasn't been kicked or something that knocked something out.

On as in not running, correct? If so, yeah, that's what I did, numerous times and still nothing.

I'll check the wiring right now to see if that's what it was...not sure.

Correct, ON as in not running.

Since that's not what was wrong the only thing left is the wiring, so you may need to do some backtracking. Could be a simple as a bad ground.

Alright. I'll go look around and see if I can see something. I'm sure something was kicked/knocked out, because I put LEDs underneath the dash. We'll see how this works out....

I couldn't see anything...gonna make a run to AutoZone and see if they get anything from my OBD (just to see if its working).

I bought this programmer used off of here...when it was updating, the screen was "strobing" a bunch of different colors. Is that normal?

Yes when updating the screen will strobe every time it does a 1% download of the update on to the tuner.

If its working on your computer there is either something wrong with the OBD wire/plug that came with it or there is a fault in the trucks wiring.

Well, turns out it was the fuse, #41, sure enough was blown. I thought the guide meant the power point, not the actual cigar lighter.
Got to Autozone, no power in the OBD. No help there.
Got to Weikert Ford, didn't believe me when I told them the cigar lighter and OBD ran off the same fuse (they looked at me like I was crazy, I guess because I'm 16. ). Nothing in the cigar lighter, nothing in the OBD. Went over to the parts department, gave me a new fuse and I was off.
It works. Thanks for the help BassAckwards. You've helped me out before, and I owe ya!
